Soon to graduate with a Bachelor Honours Degree in Costume Construction for Screen and Stage from the University of South Wales, I will be based in the South-East of England.
Throughout the course, I have completed a number of projects that have tested my abilities and taught me new skills. I have developed and refined these skills as I have progressed onto more complex techniques.
I am passionate about both costume construction and design would like to further develop both areas when working in the costume industry.
I have taken part in an industry work placement with Rhondda Cynon Taff Theatre Company assisting in the construction and revival of the costumes worn for their annual pantomime production, Cinderella in 2015. I have also worked with the Welsh National Youth Opera throughout the production of ‘Kommilitonen!’ helping to source and alter the costumes.
During my final year of University, I was able to work on the tenth series of Doctor Who, gaining experience in both the costume workroom and on set with the crew and actors. This opportunity was invaluable as I was able to learn first-hand what it was like to work with multiple people from numerous backgrounds within the production and see how important communication between the different teams are to be able to produce the series.
